About
Hey, I'm Bill.
I've always been the kind of guy who had to take things apart to see how they worked. It started with old radios and broken VCRs my dad would bring home, and I guess it never really stopped. Now it's code.
By day, I've got a regular job. But by night, this is what I do. BillsTechDeck is basically my digital workbench. It's where I'm putting together a big project, piece by piece, trying to make sense of things. It's gonna be messy, and I'll probably get some stuff wrong, but I figure that's part of the process.
The big idea I'm chasing right now is to build a machine that can read a whole bunch of news and start to see how different stories and events are connected. I've always felt like you're only ever seeing a tiny piece of the picture, you know? I want to see the whole thing.
I'm no expert, just stubborn. Most of what I know I've learned from reading old manuals, breaking things, and getting great advice from smart people online. This site is my way of keeping track of it all.
So, pull up a chair if you want. You're welcome to watch me build this thing.
Take it easy,
Bill
